There are basically four popular multiprocessor\nthread-scheduling strategies used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Load Sharing – There is a global queue of threads from where\nan idle processor selects a thread.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gang Scheduling – Related threads run on a set of processor\nsimultaneously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The necessary conditions are mutual exclusion, hold and\nwait, no preemption, and circular wait. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
