Most of you work using your computers, and a slight technical issue can cost you. Technical problems are common, and if you own a computer, you know how often the issues arise. Some of the technical issues that may arise are a poor internet connection, power failure, problems associated with hardware and software, security threats, and backup issues. At times your computer might have more than one technical issue, and it is frustrating. However, you do not need to be an IT expert to fix your computer; some problems are easier to improve, and here are some things that you can do when having technical issues.
1. Update Your Computer Software
Having outdated versions of apps and software might cause technical problems to your computer. This might lead to missing wldcore.dll errors, which will cause problems to your operating system. Once you update your computer, you might solve some of the issues. If you keep up updating the installed apps and software, you will also prevent future problems from arising. Alternatively, you can set your computer so that in case of any upgrades, it updates automatically. With automatic updates, you will experience fewer technical issues. However, you still have to check and confirm if it is updated.
How to Update Your Computer
The procedure of updating your computer depends on your operating system. For the Windows operating system, go to settings to get an icon named updates & security. Click the icon, then under it select windows update. For Mac operating system, open the App Store, then open the updates page. You will see all the pending updates, allow all the updates.
2. Check Your Internet Connection
At times, your technical issues might be associated with your internet connection. In this case, you will have to test and see if your internet connection is working. If you have an Ethernet cable, connect your computer directly to the router. If you still get problems with the internet and do not work on other devices, your computer is not the problem. In this case, the problem is with the internet service provider or the rooter. You can communicate with your internet service providers so that they can resolve the issue.
On the other hand, if the other devices can access the internet, but your computer has problems, you can restart your computer then try again. Alternatively, you can switch off the internet router then put it on again. Other times your computer might fail to access the internet when in Wi-Fi connection, but it works directly to the rooter. In this case, the problem is with the Wi-Fi network. You can communicate with the internet providers to check the internet speed and the functioning of your rooter.
3. Perform a Virus Scan
Technical issues like sluggishness might be a result of a computer virus. Running a virus scan might sound obvious, but it helps a lot. Get a virus scanning software, then put it to run on your computer. Ensure your virus scanner is the latest version so that it can be able to detect the most recent wave of computer viruses. The virus scanner you use must be compatible with your operating system.
Various antivirus programs work for the Windows operating system, unlike for Mac operating system, where you need to go deep and check if the antivirus works. You can opt to have two or more antivirus programs so that the other one can work if one fails. If the antivirus program detects a virus in your computer, it will deal with the issue leaving your computer clean. After a virus scan, if you find your computer has no virus, your computer issue might be associated with something else, you will have to try other troubleshooting options.
These steps will enable you to know the possible causes of your technical issues and solve some of them. Nevertheless, if you try all of them and realize your computer still has problems, you can look for an IT expert to help you resolve them. Remember your computer is delicate and expensive, do not try fixing it on your own unless you are certain of what you are doing.
