Many freelancers work out of your homes. A home office deduction has to do with the part of your home that you use exclusively in their business. A home office deduction only relates to that part of your home which is exclusively used for business. The deduction itself is calculated on Form 8829 and is subject to a variety of requirements. If eligible, the amount able to be deducted is carried over to Schedule C.
